Boris Medina’s Leadership Recognized with Regional Award

September 21, 2026 - El Abra President Boris Medina recently received the Radoslav Razmilic Award, which recognizes executives who have made significant contributions to strengthening industry and advancing the development of the Antofagasta region in Chile.

The award is presented by the Antofagasta Industrial Association (AIA), one of the leading business organizations in northern Chile. The association brings together companies connected to mining and productive development in the Antofagasta region where El Abra operates. Medina is a member of the AIA Board of Directors.

The recognition coincides with El Abra’s 30th anniversary. It also comes as the company is advancing its Operational Continuity Project, which is intended to extend the mine life by more than four decades.

“This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the work of the teams I have had the opportunity to collaborate with throughout my career,” Medina said. “It also represents El Abra’s commitment to the development of mining and the communities of the Antofagasta Region, an effort we have built together with our employees, partners and neighboring communities for more than 30 years.”
