The plant has been awarded the Molybdenum Mark for responsible production in 2023.
Location
Stowmarket is a market town in Suffolk, England, about 109 kilometers northeast of London.
Background
The plant started the production of ferromolybdenum as Minworth Metals in 1950. In 1968, Climax Molybdenum Company, a subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan, U.K. Limited purchased Minworth Metals and since then we have improved production processes and increased plant capacity.

The Rotterdam plant in the Netherlands is a chemical conversion plant that delivers technical molybdic oxide, ammonium molybdate and pure molybdic oxide to customers worldwide.

In 2004, the certification to ISO 14001 International Environmental Standard was received, and in 2005 to the OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety Standard, which was transferred to ISO 45001 in 2019.
