June 11, 2026 - Mario Larenas, Country Manager for Freeport-McMoRan in Chile, has been confirmed as a member of the Business Advisory Council of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation.

The Business Advisory Council is the official private-sector body within the broader Asia-Pacific group. It brings together leading business figures from various sectors of the economy to help ensure the perspectives of the private sector are reflected in the larger organization’s agenda and policy discussions. The advisory council’s year-long work will culminate when members present consolidated business recommendations to heads of state and government officials.

“From my role as Country Manager for Freeport-McMoRan in Chile, I am honored to represent my country on the APEC Business Advisory Council,” Larenas said. “This role enables the private sector to contribute to advancing trade, investment and sustainable economic growth across the Asia Pacific region.”
