Freeport Recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in America

February 21, 2024 - Freeport-McMoRan is one of the best places in the United States to work, according to new rankings by Forbes Magazine.

Freeport was recognized on the Forbes America’s Best Large Employers 2024 list, which the publication describes as a “resource to both job seekers and to companies that are interested in learning how their competitors are performing in regard to employee satisfaction.”

The company ranked 289th overall among 600 American firms with at least 5,000 employees. Freeport previously was named by Forbes as one of America’s top employers in 2019 and among the world’s best in 2020.

The annual rankings are based on a survey of more than 170,000 employees at U.S. companies compiled in partnership with the market research firm Statista. Survey respondents are asked to evaluate their employer based on a range of criteria, including working hours, pay and benefits.

Participants also were asked if they would recommend their employer to others.

Responses were given by current employees, employees who had worked for the company within the past two years, and individuals familiar with the company through friends, family or peers in their industry.

All survey responses were tallied to produce a score for each company, and the 600 organizations with the highest scores made the final list of America’s largest companies. Companies with 1,000 to 5,000 employees are ranked separately.
