Freeport Named to S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2022

Freeport Named to S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2022 February 2, 2022 - Freeport-McMoRan has been included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2022 in recognition of its demonstrated strength, commitment and performance of the company’s environmental, social and governance practices.

To be included in the Sustainability Yearbook, companies must be within the top 15 percent of their industry and must achieve a score within 30 percent of their industry’s top-performing company. This year, more than 2,100 companies – representing more than 45 percent of global market capitalization – actively participated in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment, and more than 7,500 companies in total were assessed for potential inclusion in the Sustainability Yearbook.

Freeport ranked in the 92nd percentile in the most recent assessment, up from the 56th percentile just two years ago.

“We recognize that robust ESG practices and transparency are integral components to producing sustainable long-term value for our shareholders and for our stakeholders alike,” said Alexandra Barrows, Director-ESG Relations. “We are pleased to be included for the first time in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook, demonstrating significant efforts and progress by the Freeport team to continually enhance our ESG programs, practices and related disclosures.”

Companies are assessed across a broad range of financially material ESG factors that can impact the company’s values, earnings capacity, competitive positioning and long-term value. This is the first year Freeport has been included in the Sustainability Yearbook. Learn more at spglobal.com/esg/csa/yearbook/2022/ranking.
