The award will be presented at The Copper Club’s Annual Dinner on June 12, at The Plaza Hotel in New York. Quirk, who will become Freeport’s Chief Executive Officer in June, will be honored in recognition of her exceptional leadership and commitment to the copper industry.

The Ankh Award has been bestowed every year since 1962 to professionals who have made extraordinary contributions to the copper industry. Attendees at the annual dinner include industry leaders from the mining, refining and smelting, fabricating, manufacturing and financial services sectors from around the world. “No one is more deserving of the Copper Club’s Ankh Award than Kathleen,” said Richard Adkerson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and 2008 Ankh Award recipient. “We have worked together for 35 years. Her commitment to Freeport and to supporting the copper industry has been unwavering. Kathleen always strives to do what is fundamentally right.
