Message from FCX CEO to Stakeholders regarding COVID-19

To our Stakeholders:

The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically altered our world, bringing swift and significant disruption to all aspects of our society. On behalf of our organization, our thoughts go out to all those affected by this global health crisis. We are especially grateful to medical personnel and all on the front lines helping those in need.

As the world changes around us, our principal focus is on the health, safety and well-being of our global workforce, their families and the communities where we operate. The speed and breadth of the circumstances we are all navigating has only deepened this commitment. I want to recognize the dedication and resiliency of our entire workforce and global organization who are critical to our long-term success.

We have established a dedicated global task force to closely monitor developments and assist in our business continuity planning. We have implemented multiple actions to limit workforce exposure to the virus, ranging from travel and visitor restrictions, adjustments to our operating practices and requiring that our employees follow guidelines to prevent its spread. Those employees who can work from home are doing so.

As many of our jobs require employees to be physically on site, we have rigorous cleaning and sanitation protocols in place and are engaging in physical distancing. To support our employees around the world, we have adjusted our Human Resources policies with respect to sick leave and other pay practices.

We continue to serve our customers who have indicated continued healthy demand for copper and other products we produce. Copper is essential to the global economy and has many applications, including properties that kill bacteria and viruses - very important in the current health crisis.

We appreciate the partnership with our contractors and vendors and we are working closely with them to stay ahead of any disruptions to our supply chain.

Also, we are working to manage costs and capital spending to maintain financial strength during this period of uncertainty.

We are in this together, so it is essential to work as one for the benefit of all stakeholders. We will maintain ongoing and transparent communications with our employees, stakeholders and communities.

I am confident that our organization can overcome these current challenges, and I remain positive about the long-term future of our business.

More than ever, thank you for your support.
